I would like to thank Stuart and Diana Mead for picking HRCH Clubmead’s Smokin Del Rienzi for me as a pup. My living in Louisiana, I felt that I was at their mercy in my attempt to pick a pup out of a litter that I have only seen pictures of on the internet. It was obvious from her early training days that she was a diamond in the rough that needed to be polished. She is a pleasure to train, and always ready to work, never being short on controlled breaks. After her young hunt test career with myself, I quickly realized that see needed more training than I could give her, so I involved the services of Eric Babin. Eric is the owner of Louisiana Labrador Kennels and has been very successful at all of our local hunt tests. She went on a three-month road trip with Eric, to escape the southern heat, to upstate New York and seemed to enjoy life on the road. After her return home, her hunt test career took off and she received her Hunting Retriever Championship, and continued to prove that she was worthy of it. Smoke has always run with so much style that has drawn attention to her in training and in test with much consistency. I am fortunate to have Smoke, and I am fortunate to have the acquaintance and affiliation of Stuart and Diana Mead as well as the friendship that I have developed with Eric Babin and Ramona Riche. Also, a special thanks to my three sons, Chris, Chase and Clint for helping me wing birds and make training a family thing.
